NOSFERATU:
A SYMPHONY OF TERROR
Fri., Nov. 20, 7:30 PM

Rosendale Recreation Center Route 32, Rosendale. Nosferatu: A Symphony of Terror. Spend an exciting evening watching a timeless thriller with a captivating, original score. An exciting evening with a captivating, original score. Tickets prices for adults are only $10 and children are free. As always, the Rosendale Food Pantry greatly appreciates any non-perishable food donations as well.
The film, originally titled Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, is widely regarded as the best screen adaptation of the vampire legend. The film is loosely based on Bram Stoker's frightening novel, Dracula, however, there are many differences between the two versions of the story. In Nosferatu, the main character, Count Orlok, is not an appealing, well spoken gentleman as the vampire in Dracula, rather he looks more like a vicious rat, with his extra long fingernails and sharp incisors. In contrast to other vampire legends, Count Orlok does not create other vampires with his bite, but kills them with it. The film also originated the idea that vampires cannot be exposed to sunlight or they will turn to dust, a legend that is still included in most modern adaptations of the story.
Pair this fabulous vintage film with the mesmerizing, synthesized music of Broomhead/Snyder, who are sure to amaze us with their inventive, extemporaneous music, and you have a great night out.

WYLD ACRES 2nd ANNUAL "FOOD BANK BARTER" PROGRAM / January 2010
Wyld Acres Healing Arts announces its 2nd annual January "Food Bank Barter" program. During the month of January, clients are invited to pay for their sessions with the equivalent in non-perishable food items. All food will be donated to local food pantries.
"Our local food banks are getting hit harder than ever. This program is intended to help replenish some of their inventory after the holidays," explained Erica Chase-Salerno, owner of Wyld Acres.
Wyld Acres clients should mention the Food Bank Barter when they make their January appointments. Wyld Acres does in-studio and distance energy healing, and prenatal communication work.
For more information about this program or about Wyld Acres, visit WyldAcres.com or contact Chase-Salerno at (845) 255-5896.

We're open every Monday 9 AM - 1 PM and every Saturday 10 AM - 12 PM.
Our mission is to help families with emergency food needs.
If you need supplies, please call us at 399-7997.
Much like other area food pantries, non-perishable food items are the bulk of what is distributed. The pantry also offers bread when available, toiletries, baby care items, and gifts during the holidays.

The Rosendale Food Pantry is unique in its delivery. Our guiding principles are RESPECT and COMPASSION. These values pervade all interactions and decision-making.
A small, tight-knit volunteer staff treats everyone who walks in the pantry with the respect and compassion they deserve as fellow human beings.

You can help by donating the basic living necessities listed on this page. No donation is too small.

Last year, our community helped furnish needy children with school supplies. The supply drive was instrumental in helping these kids and families start out with most, if not all, of the supplies they needed. It is that time again. We're hoping the community will once again support this program this year. We serve families with children of all ages and adults in college.
